Lauren with Polka Dots
This morning Lauren red dots on her body that seemed to multiply ever few minutes. I took her to doctor to get her checked out and sure enough...she has chicken POX. She had her chicken pox booster as a baby but they are NOW recommending a second booster between the age of 5 and 8. Now, we know why! The older two boys have both had 2 boosters and Greg and I have already had chicken pox. But Bennett has only had one booster so far...so we are hoping he doesn't get it to.
Lauren is REALLY sad that she will be missing her Valentine's party at school on Friday. :-(
The good news is that since she had one booster, she should have a milder version of the pox that could last as little as 5 days (and not 10 like usual).
So, word to the wise, get your kids BOTH boosters of the chicken pox vaccine.

Poor Lauren! I had to miss my class's end-of-the-year swim party when I got the chicken pox. I can totally sympathize. Hope it's a mild case. Get well soon, Lauren!
Awww!!! Poor Lauren!!
My kids were are recently exposed, but none of them ended up coming down with it. (I was surprised since I choose not to give my kiddos this particular vaccine.)
I hope she isn't too miserable, and gets better SOON!
Poor Lauren!! Hunter had the chicken pox for 10 days and it was a very mild case and he did have the booster shot when he was little. Taylor ended up having chicken pox to. Everyone has had them except for Spencer. I am sad for her to be missing her valentines day party. Is she still going to make her valentines and send them to her class or would that be spreading the germs? Oatmeal bathes are heaven sent for the itching. My kids loved them and would take two a day for 30 minutes a piece. It helped them with the itching alot. Good luck!!
MIssing her Valentine's party??!! What a shame. You'll just have to have your own at home so she can wear pink and eat cupcakes...she deserves it if she's sick and so do you!
