Lowden won the first round of OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) at his school with his team of two. He was really excited. Next week is the school semi-finals...wish him luck!

Congrats to Lowden!! That is great!
Guess what? Jared participated in a similar competition at his school and his team made it to the district competition in March! Our school district program is called Global Reading. He had to read 10 books in 5 months (his books were Inkheart, The Tale of Despereau, Holes, Rules, Hatchet . . .) Jared just asked me if he'll compete against Lowden. (I told him no) He is sad that he doesn't get to see him. Tell Lowden good luck from Jared!
